Clean Water & Sanitation

PfC has begun work to install a borehole operated on solar power that will provide 10,000 liters of clean water per day, which will benefit SSYSA’s participants as well as the 1,200 students at the school, a nearby church, and the local community.

This project has four main purposes for SSYSA’s participants and the surrounding community:

  1. Provide clean drinking water
  2. Provide water for cleaning, especially of the toilet facilities
  3. Construct shower/washing facilities to improve sanitation and hygiene
  4. Promote income generating activities (two taps will be available for local community members for a small fee)
